Beagle Field Trials

This is me with hopefully soon-2-b Field Champion "Hope we'll get'um" --we call her "Hopie"
She really started the beagle craze for me and the whole family.
We started hunting her and at one year old she ran her first field trial. We started her in the ARHA Progressive Pack class. Hopie one second in her pool and took 5th overall in points. Our highly prized pup Savanna's Lil' Heidi won the puppy class in the bench show, then took the crown being named "Best of Show" for the trial. That was my very first trial and with me and the kids packing home the trophies that early Spring day the idea for a family ran kennel was born. We began tracking down pups with some bloodlines we liked (which I'll get into later) and went for it.
We are up to 5 females that we have on a breeding schedule. We give our females as much as two years between ltters so we only average a litter a year, sometimes two, this year maybe three. I built a 5 acre running pen to operate the business end, which I start my pups and hopefully one day other peoples puppies. I hope to get my training posted day-to-day so stay posted.

Right now I have in training "Yellow Roses Emmy" which is the grand-puppy and line bred with Branko's Jack of All Trades, and we have a 13 week old female we just landed from the Myers family out of Bainbridge, Ohio. This little critter get'r is out of "Hogdog" a local Progressive Pack running Champion, and Hi Ridge Molly which goes back to the "Tank Dog" bloodline. But I had a redback training rabbit get out the other day and she chased that thing every where. She will be an easy starter! But I look foward to training the older females for the trials this Spring, and I really can't wait to get the pups going so I can see what they are going to offer us.
